This tool connects with the Skills Improvement Planning tool.

It enables each employee to schedule themselves to attend the training that has been specified in their personal development plan.

It provides the links to deliver online interactive training programs.

It provides the template for entering a record of the training completion.

It provides standardized templates for collecting customized information needed to accurately measure the impact of each training program.

Human Resources staff must be instructed to appropriately:

  • Facilitate the creation of the company's internal and external training programs to coordinate with the company-wide skills improvement planning process
  • Ensure ample training delivery frequency and flexibility to meet demand
  • Develop cross-check mechanisms to ensure accurate training completion records
  • Monitor and act on all four levels of training impact measurements

TOOL FEATURES

Scheduling training…this feature provides the listing of the times and locations for each training program under each of the five skills improvement categories. It allows the employee to enter the personal identification information that enrolls them for the training. It sends an automatic email FYI to the employee's immediate supervisor.

Training delivery…this feature is password secure and provides access to the pre-scheduled and approved online interactive training program. This feature can be used by employees individually or by instructors conducting classroom training for multiple employees. Linked to this feature is the level one measuring template that is administered immediately following completion of the training program.

Recording training completion…this feature can be automatically linked to the level 1 and level 2 measurement templates so individual employees can record training completion as soon as they enter responses to both impact measurements. It can also be accessed separately by instructors who may want to record training completion for multiple employees after verifying that all level 1 and 2 measurements have been entered.

Training impact measurements…this feature provides the templates to all four levels of impact measurement. Training program administrators are responsible to email level 3 measurement documents to all training participants within two to four weeks following completion of the training. Level 4 measurement documents are then emailed to both the immediate supervisor and the employee so that a joint response can be obtained within three to six months following completion of the training.
